Guacamole

Here is a simple and delicious guacamole recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1 small tomato, diced
  • 1/4 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (optional)
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and chopped (optional)
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander, chopped (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preparing the avocadosCut the avocados in half, remove the stone and scoop out the flesh with a spoon. Place in a large bowl.
  2. Smash avocadosUse a fork to mash the avocados to a creamy consistency but with some chunks for texture.
  3. Add ingredientsAdd the chopped tomato, onion, garlic (if using), and jalapeño (if using) to the bowl with the avocado. Mix well.
  4. SeasonAdd the lemon juice and salt to taste. Mix again.
  5. OptionalAdd chopped fresh coriander if you like its flavour.

Council:

  • To prevent the guacamole from oxidising and turning brown, you can either leave one of the avocado pits in the mixture or cover it tightly with plastic wrap, pressing it directly onto the surface of the guacamole.

And that's it! Serve the guacamole with nachos, tortillas or as an accompaniment to your favourite dishes.
