Here is a recipe for russian steaks with panko. This version uses panko, a type of Japanese breadcrumbs that gives the steaks a crunchier texture.
Ingredients:
- 500 g minced meat (can be beef, pork or a mixture of both)
- 1 egg
- 1 clove garlic (finely chopped or crushed)
- 1 small onion (finely chopped)
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 100 g panko
- Olive oil for frying
Elaboration:
1.Prepare the meat mixture:
- In a large bowl, mix the minced meat with the egg, garlic, onion, mustard, parsley, salt and pepper. Make sure all the ingredients are well integrated.
2. Form the russian steaks:
- Divide the meat mixture into equal portions and shape into steaks, flattening them slightly with your hands.
3. Bread the fillets:
- Place the panko on a wide plate. Dredge each fillet in the panko, making sure they are well coated on all sides.
4. Fry the fillets:
- In a large frying pan, heat enough olive oil over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, add the steaks and fry until golden brown and crispy on the outside and cooked on the inside (approximately 3-4 minutes per side, depending on thickness).
4. Drain off excess oil:
- Once fried, place the fillets on absorbent paper to remove excess oil.
Serve the russian steaks with panko hot. You can serve them with a salad, fried vegetables, chips or rice.
