This quick bread is ideal for those days when we don't have much time, but want to enjoy a delicious homemade bread. With a soft texture on the inside and a crispy crust on the outside, this bread is sure to be a hit on your table.
Ingredients (for 1 loaf):
- 500 g of strong flour
- 325 ml lukewarm water
- 10 g salt
- 5 g sugar
- 15 g fresh yeast (or 5 g dried yeast)
- 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
Traditional production:
- Dissolve the yeast in the warm water and add the sugar.
- In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt. Make a well in the centre and add the yeast and water mixture.
- Add the olive oil and mix well until a dough forms.
- Knead for 10 minutes on a floured surface until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Form the dough into a ball and place it in a lightly greased (oven-proof) bowl or mould.
- Turn on the oven to 220 °C. and while the oven is still cold, put the dough in the indicated container, make a few cuts on the top and sprinkle with a little flour.
- Bake for 40 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- Leave to cool on a wire rack before slicing.
Preparation with Thermomix:
- Add the water and the crumbled yeast to the Thermomix mixing bowl. Blend for 2 minutes, 37 °C, speed 2.
- Add the flour, salt, sugar and olive oil. Mix for 30 seconds on speed 6.
- Knead for 3 minutes on pin speed.
- Turn the oven on at 220 °C. Place the dough on a baking tray, cut a few slits in the top and sprinkle with flour.
- Bake for 40 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- Leave to cool on a wire rack before slicing.

- Serves this bread It can be served quickly with a good olive oil for dipping or with your favourite butter. It is also perfect with stews or soups.

Additional advice:
- If you want a deeper flavour, you can add dried herbs such as rosemary or thyme to the dough.
- For a crispier crust, place a bowl of water in the bottom of the oven while the bread bakes.
