Once upon a time there was a dad who didn't cook. That was my husband. And one day he came up with the idea of making this simple but tasty sandwich for my children... and they were amazed. Here's the recipe and the original photo of the first sandwich....:
Ingredients (for 4 sandwiches):
- Very large sliced bread (there is the option of making it at home, which is great, although it takes more work).
- 800 g minced beef (75%) and minced pork (25%) for making hamburgers
- 4 slices of cooked ham
- Lettuce
- 4 slices of Cheddar cheese
- Sliced tomato
- Onion cut into rings
- Olives
- 4 eggs
- Olive oil (EVOO)
- Salt
Elaboration:
1. Hamburgers:
- The minced meat patties are prepared and shaped according to the size of the bun.
2. Preparation of the rest of the ingredients:
- All other ingredients are prepared in separate dishes.
- It is advisable to have everything ready because it has to be done as quickly as possible, so that it is ready.
3. Mayonnaise:
- Prepare a mayonnaise in the usual way and set aside with the other ingredients.
4. Cooked ham and hamburgers:
- Place the slices of cooked ham (turn and turn) on the griddle in a frying pan drizzled with olive oil, when the oil is hot, but not too hot. Remove and set aside.
- The hamburgers are cooked in the same frying pan. To each to his own taste (more or less done).
- When it is done on both sides, and before removing it, put the cheddar cheese on top, so that it is "welded" to the meat when it is heated.
5. Fried eggs:
- Heat a small frying pan with plenty of oil so that it heats up gradually.
- Meanwhile, toast the sliced bread in a normal toaster and keep it covered with a napkin so that it cools as little as possible.
- As soon as the oil is very hot, fry the eggs, one at a time, in the small frying pan.
5. Plating:
- Put a slice of bread as a base.
- Next, put a layer of lettuce on top.
- On top, the hamburger
- A thin layer of mayonnaise is added on top.
- Next, the very thinly sliced onion slices
- Then put in a couple of fairly thin slices of tomato
- Now add the toasted cooked ham.
- Then the fried egg on top
- And finally, before putting the other slice to cover the sandwich, make a hole in it with a small glass (egg yolk size).
- Place the slice in the hole and leave it so that it can be seen open, leaving the "lid" next to it.
Serve on a plate with chips and enjoy!
