This homemade dishwasher detergent is an excellent economical and natural alternative to keep your dishes spotless. With simple ingredients, you can create an effective cleaner that is also environmentally friendly. It has to be said that it is not as effective as industrial products, but it is much more environmentally friendly.
Ingredients (for approximately 1 jar):
- 3 whole lemons
- 200 g coarse salt
- 1 cuvette of white vinegar
- 1/2 cup of water
- 1/4 cup of rinse aid (optional)
Elaboration:
- Cut the lemons into quarters, making sure to remove the seeds.
- Place the lemons in the glass of the Thermomix together with the coarse salt. Blend for 20 seconds at maximum speed.
- Add the white vinegar and water to the glass. Cook for 15 minutes at 100°C, speed 2, without the cap to allow evaporation.
- Add the polish (optional) and mix for 20 seconds at maximum speed to obtain a more homogeneous texture.
- Allow the mixture to cool and, once ready, pour into a clean, well-sealed jar.
How to use:
- Add one tablespoon of the household detergent into the detergent compartment of your dishwasher before each wash cycle.

Additional advice:
- To improve the scent, you can add a few drops of lemon or lavender essential oil to the detergent.
