Here is a simple and delicious recipe for garlic mushrooms. This dish is perfect as an appetizer, tapa or side dish.
Ingredients:
- 400 grams of mushrooms (mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, portobello mushrooms, or a mixture)
- 4 cloves of garlic
- 1 chilli pepper (optional, for a spicy touch)
- 4 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
- Salt to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley to taste
- A splash of white wine (optional)
- Freshly ground black pepper (optional)
Elaboration:
- Prepare the mushrooms:
- Clean the mushrooms with a damp cloth or soft brush to remove soil. Do not immerse them in water so that they do not absorb moisture.
- Cut the mushrooms into slices or medium-sized pieces, depending on the type of mushroom and your preference.
- Prepare the garlic and chilli:
- Peel and finely slice the garlic.
- If you decide to use chilli, cut the chilli into thin slices. If you prefer a less spicy dish, you can remove the seeds.
- Sauté the mushrooms:
- In a large frying pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the garlic slices and chilli (if using). Cook for a few minutes, until the garlic is golden, but be careful not to let it burn, as it can become bitter.
- Add the mushrooms to the pan and turn the heat up a little. Cook the mushrooms for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until reduced and golden brown.
- Add the white wine (optional):
- If you decide to use white wine, add a splash to the pan once the mushrooms are browned. Allow the alcohol to evaporate and the liquid to reduce, which will add extra flavour to the dish.
- Season:
- Add salt to taste and, if desired, a little freshly ground black pepper.
- Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
- Serve:
- Serve the garlic mushrooms hot, accompanied by bread for dipping in the delicious garlic oil.
Total processing time:
- Approximately 20-25 minutes.
Enjoy your garlic mushrooms!
