Ambience and Decoration

Cuadrilla restaurant is located in a central and busy area of Madrid, which makes it easily accessible. It is well connected and, although parking in the area can be a little tricky, the location is excellent for enjoying lunch or dinner in an urban environment.

The atmosphere at Cuadrilla is pleasant, with modern décor and a cosy touch that invites you to relax. The tables are laid out in a way that allows for comfortable conversation, although at busy times the noise level can get a little louder. The décor mixes traditional elements with contemporary details, creating an attractive and comfortable space.

Value for money

In terms of value for money, the final bill was 94.40 € for three people, which is in line with what is expected for this type of restaurant in Madrid. Considering the quality of the dishes and the quantity, the value for money is reasonable, although some prices, such as the cachopo (26.50 €), could be considered a little high.

Service

The service was generally efficient and friendly. We were served promptly, and the staff were always ready to help us with any questions or requests. However, at some points we felt that the pace of service could have been a little faster, especially in the delivery of some dishes and drinks. Nevertheless, the service was friendly and professional.

Gastronomy

Recommended Dishes

  • Cuadrilla's menu offers a variety of traditional dishes with a modern twist. The quality of the ingredients is good, and it shows in the preparation of the dishes. This is what we had:
    • Russian salad (1/2 portion): A classic version, well executed. The portion is generous for a half portion, with a balanced flavour and a good texture. However, it does not particularly stand out from other ensaladillas that can be found in Madrid.
    • Squid rabas (1/2 portion): The rabas were crispy and well fried, although the 1/2 portion was a little fair. The taste was good, but not too surprising.
    • Matachana black pudding (1/2 portion): This was one of the most special dishes of the meal. The black pudding was well cooked, with an intense flavour and a pleasant texture. It was a good choice to order it.
    • Ham and cheese cachopoThe star dish of the meal. The cachopo was well prepared, with tender meat and a well-balanced ham and cheese filling. The portion is quite large, ideal for sharing. It was one of the dishes we liked the most.

Conclusion

Overall, our experience at Cuadrilla was satisfactory. The atmosphere is pleasant, the service correct and the food meets expectations, especially the cachopo and black pudding. It is a recommendable place for an informal meal with friends or family, although perhaps not for more formal or special occasions due to certain details in the service and prices.
