Chocolate bread in the bread maker.

Here's a recipe that will delight chocolate lovers: a sweet and fluffy chocolate chip bread, easily prepared in the Lidl bread maker. Perfect for breakfast or a snack, this bread is irresistible and very easy to make.

Ingredients:

  • 500 g of strong flour
  • 250 ml warm milk
  • 60 g butter at room temperature
  • 80 g sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 sachet (7 g) baker's dry yeast
  • 150 g dark chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Elaboration:

  1. Preparation of the breadmaker:
    • Make sure the pan of the bread maker is clean and dry before you start.
  2. Incorporate the ingredients:
    • Pour the warm milk into the bowl of the breadmaker.
    • Add the beaten egg, the butter in small pieces, the sugar and the salt.
    • Then add the strong flour, making sure that it covers the liquids completely.
    • In the centre of the flour, make a small hole (without reaching the liquids) and pour in the dry yeast.
    • If you use vanilla extract, also add it at this point.
  3. Programme selection:
    • Close the lid of the bread maker and select the sweet bread programme (if your Lidl bread maker has this programme) or the basic bread programme.
    • Set the weight to 750 g or 1 kg, depending on the options offered by the machine.
    • Select a medium or light browning level according to your preference.
  4. Stir in the chocolate chips:
    • Most bread makers will beep when it is time to add additional ingredients. When you hear this signal (or when the first 10 minutes of kneading have passed), add the chocolate chips.
    • If your bread machine does not have this function, you can incorporate them directly at the beginning, although they may mix more than desired with the dough.
  5. Cooking and resting:
    • Let the breadmaker complete the entire kneading, rising and baking cycle.
    • When the bread is ready, carefully remove it from the pan and place it on a wire rack to cool.
  • Suggestion:
    • If you prefer a fluffier bread, you can slightly increase the amount of milk.
    • If you don't have chocolate chips, you can chop up a bar of dark chocolate or use milk chocolate according to your preference.

Enjoy this delicious freshly baked chocolate bread, with its fluffy interior and irresistible aroma. Ideal with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate, it will be hard to resist repeating!
