This dessert combines the intensity of chocolate with the freshness of vanilla ice cream, topped with an irresistible chocolate coating - ideal for those with a sweet tooth!
Ingredients for 8 portions:
- For the brownie:
- 200 g dark chocolate (minimum 70% cocoa)
- 150 g butter
- 150 g sugar
- 100 g wheat flour
- 4 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 1 pinch of salt
- For the chocolate coating:
- 100 g dark chocolate for desserts
- 50 ml whipping cream
- 1 tablespoon butter
- For the presentation:
- Vanilla ice cream
- Coloured shavings or chopped nuts (optional)
Elaboration:
- Preheat the oven to 180ºC and grease a square or rectangular baking tin with butter. You can also line it with baking paper to make unmoulding easier.
- In a microwave-safe bowl or bain-marie, melt the dark chocolate together with the butter. Stir until you obtain a homogeneous mixture. Leave to cool.
- In another large bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until the mixture is fluffy. Add the vanilla essence and mix.
- Gradually stir the melted chocolate into the egg-sugar mixture, whisking constantly.
- Sieve the flour and add it together with the pinch of salt. Mix with a stirring motion until all the ingredients are combined.
- Pour the mixture into the pan and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the pan comes out slightly moist. The brownie should be moist inside. Leave to cool before unmoulding.
- For the chocolate couverture, melt the chocolate together with the cream and butter in a bain-marie or in the microwave. Stir until you obtain a smooth and shiny sauce.
Suggested presentation:
- Cut the brownie into individual portions and place each piece on a plate.
- Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of each brownie.
- Cover with the hot chocolate couverture and, if desired, decorate with coloured shavings or chopped nuts.
