Baked sea bream.

This baked sea bream is a classic dish ideal for celebrations and special meals. With a touch of lemon and roasted vegetables, it is a delicious and easy-to-prepare recipe that is sure to please all palates.

Ingredients (for 4 people):

  • 1 large sea bream (approx. 1.5 kg)
  • medium potatoes
  • medium onions
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 glass of white wine
  • 50 ml extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Fresh chopped parsley

Elaboration:

  1. Preparing the vegetablesPreheat the oven to 200 °C. Peel the potatoes and cut them into halves, as well as the onions, and place them on a baking tray and season with salt and a little olive oil. Bake for about 20 minutes to soften the potatoes.
  2. Preparing the sea breamWhile the vegetables are baking, clean the sea bream, making sure it is well de-veined and gutted. Make two or three diagonal cuts in the backs of the fish and place a slice of lemon in each cut. Season the sea bream with salt and pepper on both sides and place a few whole cloves of garlic on the tray next to the fish.
  3. Bake the sea breamPlace the sea bream on top of the pre-cooked vegetables, drizzle with the white wine and olive oil. Place the tray in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, until the fish is cooked and golden brown. If it browns too quickly, cover lightly with aluminium foil.
  4. ServeRemove the tray from the oven and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley before serving. Serve the sea bream with the roasted potatoes and onions.
